It’s going to be another beautiful weekend on Long Island! Why not pack up the family and head out to a local event? Let’s take a look at what’s going on in our area Saturday and Sunday, courtesy of Newsday:
Farm Days at Talmage Farm Agway
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Address: 1122 Osborne Ave., Riverhead
Talmage Farm, located in Riverhead, New York, will host Farm Day this Saturday. Take the family out east to enjoy a free petting zoo provided by the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank. Children will love learning about calves, llamas, baby goats, lambs, piglets, chicks and ducks. Pony rides will also be available!
“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” at John W. Engeman Theater
Date: 6/7/2014 & 6/8/2014
Time: Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Address: 250 Main St., Northport
If you’d rather stay indoors this weekend, check out “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” at John W. Engeman Theater in Northport. Kids will love the funny musical, which follows Alexander throughout his very unlucky day.
Moonlight Hike at Bayard Cutting Arboretum
Time: 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Address: 440 Montauk Hwy., Great River
Price: $4 adults, $3 children, free for children ages 3 and younger
What better day to wind down after a busy day than to take an evening walk along the moonlit trails of Bayard Cutting Arboretum? Children and adults will appreciate the chance to explore the preserve on a delightful spring night. But make sure you call ahead, because reservations are required: (631) 581-1072.
